Our Story
Oliver Books was founded in 2025 by Hannah Oliver with the help of Duncan McGreary of Pegasus Books in Bend, with the goal of creating welcoming space for readers of all ages in Prineville. We hope our bookstore will become a beloved fixture in the community.
What started as a small, curated collection has grown into a comprehensive selection of both new and used titles across all genres. We take pride in our carefully selected inventory that balances bestsellers with hidden gems, classics, and children's books.
Our mission is simple: to connect readers with books they'll love and foster a community around the shared joy of reading. Whether you're a voracious reader or just beginning your literary journey, we're here to help you find your next favorite book.
What We Offer
New Titles
We stock the latest releases across fiction, non-fiction, children's literature, and more. Our new book selection is updated weekly to ensure you always have access to current bestsellers and noteworthy new releases.
Used Books
Our carefully curated used book selection offers affordable options for readers on a budget. All used books are thoroughly inspected for quality, and we offer store credit for your gently used books.
Children's
Our children's section features a diverse range of books for all ages, from board books for babies to young adult novels. With a coloring table, and play area for kids so parents can browse while their children play.
Book Club
Join our monthly book club meetings where we discuss a selected title over coffee and pastries from our neighboring café. All readers welcome!

Hannah Oliver
Owner
With a background in comparative literature, Hannah curates our literary selection and organizes events at Oliver Books. She is passionate about fostering a love of reading in the community and connecting readers with books that inspire and delight.
Duncan Mcgreary
Co-Founder & Sci-fi Specialist
A fellow bookstore owner, Duncan has been instrumental in the opening of Oliver books with his expert guidance and forty years of experience in owning and operating a Pegasus Books in Bend, OR.
